STORYTIME
A monthly storytime program for preschool children
is provided. Programs are about 30 minutes long with
various themes. Stories, songs, poems, fingerplays,
puppets and special guests are some of the activities.
The time is Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Brian grew up in Missouri,
but for the last twenty five years he has made
Little Rock, Arkansas his home. He attended the
University of Arkansas at Little Rock where he
received a bachelor’s degree in music education,
as well as his masters in liberal arts.
For nearly 20 years Brian
has taught music and fine arts in the Little
Rock School District at both Booker Arts Magnet
Elementary, as well as at his current position
at Washington Magnet Elementary.
He has written music for numerous
school programs and holiday events and has enhanced
the arts curriculum with his musical and artistic
abilities. At the encouragement of a fellow teacher
Brian auditioned and was accepted into the Arkansas
Arts Council roster of touring artists. Brian's
schedule has taken him all over the United States
where he has performed at numerous libraries
and schools, as well as community festivals.

Storytellers
Tuesday, June 24, 2007 - Paragould
High School Auditorium at 10:30
The
Act!vated Storytellers will be returning to Northeastern
Arkansas to enact two multicultural folktales.
The 45-minute presentation, which
is suitable for all ages, is free and open to the public.
The Act!vated Storytellers employ a number of theatrical
skills including physical comedy, music, mime, imaginative
props, American Sign Language and audience participation
to bring the stories to life. Their high-energy programs
are designed to promote literacy and the love of books.
The Act!vated Storytellers are a
nationally touring theatrical troupe and a family of
three professional performers, who have been presenting
fun, interactive family shows since 1988. The summer
of 2007 tour includes over 60 shows for library summer
reading programs throughout Arkansas, Indiana, Pennsylvania,
Maryland and Massachusetts. Their website features
stories to read and listen to and provides more information
about the program.

has been performing together professionally since

does all of the "behind the scenes" work:
props, costumes, writing, directing, and everything
else that goes along with running a business including

The Act!vated Storytellers are in perpetual motion
both on stage and off. They have performed in 44
states and coast-to-coast, Washington D.C. and
Japan. |

Typically the stay no more than one or two days
in one place. They average 3,500 miles a month. |

Up to 200 shows each year are presented at schools,
libraries and virtually any other place that wishes
to provide educational entertainment for children
and their families nationwide. |

On stage the Act!vated Storytellers are a whirlwing
of action, incorporating a wide variety of performance
art skills to entertain, dazzle and educate. |

Entertaining theatrical productions, based on
multicultural folktales and children's poetry. |
